Waterberg Winter Bush Camp. Hot showers, if you earn them.

  1. When Fri 21 – Sun 23 May 2027 Two winter nights in the bush. The donkey gets lit at four sharp.
  2. Where Boekenhout Bush Camp, Waterberg Outside Vaalwater, Limpopo. Three hours from Joburg, the last 12 km on dirt.
  3. Arrive From 14:00 on Friday The gate closes at 18:00. Come before dark: the turn-off is easy to miss.
  4. Bring Sleeping bag, towel & a bag of wood The donkey’s hungry and so is the braai. Your own drinks and meat.
  5. Wear Layers, a beanie & slops Warm days, properly cold nights. Slops for the shower floor.

The water’s freezing. Get that fire going.

Two nights at a bush camp in the Waterberg: big fires, cold nights, a long braai, stars like you forgot about, and a donkey boiler that gives a properly hot shower if somebody keeps feeding it. Hosted by Brenton.

Getting there
About three hours from JoburgN1 north to Modimolle, then the R33 to Vaalwater. The last 12 km are dirt; a sedan is fine if you take it slow.

±R300 pp per nightThe camp, split on the weekend. Firewood's on us, mostly.
Wear
Layers, a beanie & slopsWarm days, properly cold nights. Slops for the shower floor.

We’ve got
